City Center Studio Amsterdam

That first night turned into a long, horrible ordeal. When we got back, we could get into the building but not our room, and the exit door was locked too. We were trapped in a tiny stairwell in a country that wasn’t ours. I was terrified, nearly having a panic attack, and looking for the local police number. After several calls, the owner tried to reset the lock system from his phone, but it still wouldn’t open. Eventually someone else came and got both the downstairs door and our room open with a different code. Hours later, after what we’d been through, the owner gave us that code as a backup in case the lock failed again. He didn’t apologize or show concern about whether we could get in or whether another problem had happened. That same night, we gathered our luggage and had to find another hotel late at night. We’d had no trouble entering the building and room at check-in at 4 PM. On the first day, we struggled to find the entrance in the middle of a narrow, dark alley. Even the taxi driver was surprised and walked us to it. Avoid this place at all costs. Worst experience of our lives.
