Cityview Hotel

Anna-Marie made me feel like a local with warm conversations and honest recommendations, and I came back for a second stay before leaving the country. She went out of her way to make sure I had what I needed, arranging early check-in, a place to drop my bag, and late check-out across different stays. For the price, my room was great. It’s close to the main station and especially handy if you’re using public transport. Friendly, trustworthy, and highly recommended. I’ll be back!

The room smelled strongly of urine, and the place felt disgusting and unsanitary, like it wasn’t being cleaned at all. They line the rooms with chemicals to keep rodents and bugs away. The front desk staff were aggressive and rude, and made me and other guests uncomfortable. The male front desk staff guy was a nightmare to deal with. I wish I’d never come here. I just feel dirty. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want a hard lesson in Amsterdam. You’d be better off at almost any other hotel on the street.

I’ve been here about four times, in four different years. It’s an easy walk from Amsterdam Centraal station, even with luggage, and there’s free coffee in the basement. The reception staff are welcoming and attentive. The rooms are clean, but very small. If you mainly need somewhere to sleep and plan to spend most of your time sightseeing, it’s worth considering.

Anna at reception gave me some great ideas for things to do around the city. My room was very clean, and the location is great too. I had the best time and would stay again next time I’m in Amsterdam!
