Staying in this room made us wish we'd booked it for the whole trip. We had been closer to the center near Rembrandtplein, assuming that would be better, but the blocks are so close together that it doesn't really make a difference. This felt like a true oasis amid the chaos. The room was spacious, fully equipped, and cosy, with a big comfortable bed. The bathroom was huge, beautiful, and well-appointed, and the complete kitchen looked like a nice place to eat, though we didn't use it. We visited in winter and got a lovely surprise seeing the snowy street from the window. We paid less than €90 for the night, and I've recommended the place to all my friends since getting home. There was only a small closet, no wardrobes, and since we're not used to below-freezing weather, we would have liked the room a bit warmer. We couldn't work out how to adjust the thermostat, but we stayed only one night and didn't look into it. The host is helpful and surely would have assisted.

For the price, the comfort and amenities weren't there. We booked the Nord Suite but were given an attic room on the third floor, up steep and unsafe stairs. Several ceiling windows let in light early in the morning, and the cartoon blackout blind didn't cover all the way. The stair lights had no sensors, so we had to use our phone flashlights. It's a house with no sign, all managed by one person. There's no kettle or fridge in the room, though they are in the shared amenities area. The kettle wasn't clean, and breakfast was very basic. The owner complained about the weight of our luggage and said he might shut the place down soon because he couldn't keep carrying luggage. It felt like he was making his staffing choice our problem.

The host was exceptionally friendly, and we had a fantastic stay at „Commune suites“ in Amsterdam. The rooms were incredibly spacious, with high-quality furnishings that added a touch of luxury. The location gave us a great balance, peaceful but central. Highly recommend this spot for a stay in Amsterdam!

We stayed for 3 nights in November 2021 and really enjoyed coming back to a warm room after walking around all day in the rain and cold. Check-in and check-out were very easy, and the room was big with a perfect king size bed. It's a great place minutes from downtown Amsterdam, the Heineken Experience is only minutes away, and the central station is about 2.5 km away. We're definitely coming back next time we're in Amsterdam.

La Remise is more of a Bed and Breakfast than a hotel, since it's a converted home with only about 4 rooms to rent. Our room was impressive and very modern, with a recently renovated bathroom. There was no bathroom door, though, which is why I'm not giving it 5 stars. It's affordable, clean, and the staff and owner were very friendly and accommodating. The place is on a quiet street but still within easy walking distance of the museums and tourist activities. I'd definitely consider staying here again, especially for a short visit to Amsterdam if you want a nice, clean, quiet place to sleep.
