Crown Guesthouse Amsterdam

The room was unusual in a good way, with a huge window and plenty of space. The bathroom was clean, and they cleaned and refreshed the room when I asked. Angelo met me at the agreed time with everything ready, and his hand-drawn map was so useful I referred to it more than once. The location puts all the tourist spots right at your doorstep, while being one street back from Amsterdam's noise and bustle. A heads-up, the stairs are a bit of a shock and could be tricky with a heavy, bulky bag, though they added to the place's authentic feel. There were snacks and Stroopwaffels available whenever you wanted them. I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere distinctive instead of a boring hotel room. A lovely little B&B, with a great room and a really comfortable bed. The owner, Angelo, was extremely kind and helpful. The location was excellent too. Definitely recommend.

I stayed here on a work trip and will do my best to book it every time I'm back. It's right in the middle of Amsterdam, yet quiet enough to get a good night's rest. I loved the huge windows that opened all the way, the room felt airy and was comfortable and nicely styled. It had the usual amenities, including a kettle, coffee machine and a little fridge with complimentary refreshments. My flight arrived after the usual check-in time, but Angelo kindly welcomed me in person and answered my questions about staying in Amsterdam. I was the only guest, but he still laid out a full buffet, and I had everything I needed. He even left thoughtful breakfast suggestions for my way to the office. I regret forgetting my stroop waffles and not getting to enjoy the room more. Next time!

We could walk around the city easily, and getting to the train was convenient too. The room stayed nice and quiet, and opening the windows for fresh air was a real plus. The stairs could be difficult if you have mobility issues. I had a lovely couple of days here, and it’s a great Amsterdam base otherwise.
