Fletcher Hotel Amsterdam

I stayed for one night on a business trip, and it was one of the worst hotels I’ve experienced. The building looks impressive, but the tower’s views are over nothing particularly interesting. The place feels dated and needs serious refurbishment. The shower was almost broken, and the air conditioning wasn’t working in the hotel or any of the rooms during my stay. The location is useless for getting around on foot. It’s in the middle of nowhere, with no nearby restaurants or bars. Avoid it.

Our room had a beautiful view and everything we needed for a pleasant visit. The hotel is modern, clean and comfortable, with friendly, helpful staff and a convenient location. I had a great stay at Fletcher Hotel Amsterdam and would definitely recommend it and stay again.

The view from the restaurant on the 17th or 18th floor, I forget which, was great, but the meal was so-so. I’d expected better, since I’ve had tastier food in France for the same price. The table for two didn’t feel safe. It kept moving, and leaning your arms on it could make it turn. The chair was fine for me as an Asian person, but if you have a European build, I’d suggest sitting on the sofa.

The final insult was being told to leave the next day, even though we’d paid for another night. We were two adults and one child rather than two adults, and their solution was to ask us to go, though they could have put a small bed in the room. When we finally got into a room at 3 AM, it was dirty. The bathroom and toilet hadn’t been cleaned properly, and the bed was so badly made the sheets came off while we slept. There was no fridge, minibar or air conditioning, which was far below what was advertised. We arrived around midnight after a long journey with a valid booking, but reception treated us with shocking rudeness. There was no welcome or professionalism, just hostility. They refused to accommodate us because we had a child, and left us outside in the cold for THREE HOURS in the middle of the night. That’s completely unacceptable and disgraceful. Avoid the Fletcher Hotel Amsterdam at all costs. This was, without exaggeration, one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The hotel showed no respect for us and didn’t meet even the most basic standards of hospitality.
