Greenstay Hotel

I stayed for 2 months, and I wouldn’t come back. They charge a lot for utilities and admin fees, and getting help was painfully slow whenever I asked for something. They’re meant to provide fresh towels and bed sheets every week, but they never did unless I begged. After I asked a few weeks in, they agreed, then still took several more days. You have to keep reminding them. The shower water drained extremely slowly. I told the manager, who said someone would fix it the following week, but nobody came. When I complained again two weeks later, they told me to open the steel plate with a fork. The soap box in the bathroom was broken when I arrived, so I couldn’t even wash my hands, and there was no hairdryer. I emailed the next day for help. They said they’d come at 5pm but didn’t show up. A few hours later I called again, and they finally came to my apartment. Using the washing machine costs 5 euros in coins, something they don’t tell you beforehand. Where are you supposed to get the coins? The dishwasher also didn’t work properly, and most of the time my dishes were still dirty when it finished. I was supposed to get my deposit back within 14 days of moving out. After 3 weeks, it still hadn’t arrived. I emailed and got no answer, then called. A few days later they finally returned it. The deposit was around 2000 euros, worth more than all the furniture in the apartment.

The public transport connection is good, and the train station is fairly close along the canal. The rooms are okay and have what you need, from dishes to a hairdryer. There’s a portable kitchen so you can make whatever food you need. My only real downside was that parking costs extra for hotel guests.

The rooms are roomy, well equipped with what you need, and nicely soundproofed. The staff were super helpful and friendly, and I really liked staying here. It’s a unique spot away from the centre’s chaos but still has great connections. You can walk to the tram in 5 minutes and reach the centre in 20 minutes. The airport is 10 minutes away by car.

Scam! We booked the hotel 3 months ahead, but when we got there it was closed for renovation. We booked through booking, and our money still hasn’t been refunded!
