The staff were genuinely friendly, and the hotel was clean and peaceful. It's outside Amsterdam, but there's a direct bus from Sloterdijk station that takes about 20-30 minutes. The restaurant menu is decent and cheaper than nearby options, and the breakfast included with my bill was pretty good too. It seems ideal for a morning walk. If you're looking for a party atmosphere, probably not. The facilities felt a little overpriced, but I'd still recommend the place.

The owners were so kind, and we came away having had a wonderful couple of days. We stayed two nights while attending a dance conference in Amsterdam. The room and bathroom were both spacious, fresh, tidy, and clean. There were two single beds, chairs, air conditioning, a fridge, coffee machine, kettle with supplies, hairdryer, safe, plenty of towels and bathrobes, and possibly a drying rack. Wi-Fi was available too. It was nice staying in a traditional pub, and parking on site was ample. I arranged in advance to charge my plug-in hybrid with an extension lead, which they let me do. Breakfast around 8:30 or 8:45 felt a bit early, but the simple spread suited us: fresh orange juice, pastries, cheese, and cold cuts. One drawback was the shower, which had no thermostatic tap. We didn't have upstairs neighbors the first night, but the building is noisy. It didn't bother us otherwise.

The breakfasts were generous and tasty, served in a dining room with a lot of charm. We came for King's birthday weekend, and our host even drove us to the bus stop that had been changed for the festivities. After the holiday, the bus stopped right outside the accommodation and took about 20 minutes to reach Amsterdam Central Station. A great base for seeing Amsterdam and nearby places.
