Luxury Leidseplein with Private Patio

The hotel is on a quiet hill, though the wide cobbled street may be a bit noisy for rooms facing it. Across the road there's an idyllic green spot dotted with daffodils. It's about ten minutes from the city centre and 15 to 20 minutes from the castle. The rooms are very pleasant, with impeccable percale sheets and bedding. They provide plenty of shampoo, conditioner, soap and body lotion. There are cosy little lounges along the corridors, and a lovely bar where the ristretto is perfect. Breakfast overlooks a romantic rooftop garden and offers lots of hot and cold food, sweet and savoury. The traditional Scottish breakfast was a bit much for our French stomachs, but the more adventurous can give it a go. I didn't get to try the restaurant, which I think was only open three days a week when I visited. My one complaint was having no Netflix or similar, since restaurants close very early and the evenings felt rather long.
