I booked this place because I'm a Beatles fan. It gets a mention in the Ballad of John and Yoko, which the hotel celebrated, so I was glad I got to stay before it closed. I'm curious to see it after it reopens. The building has a lot of character: a huge lobby with big canal-facing windows and wood-paneled hallways that match the built-ins in the rooms. I hope the owners keep those features while renovating over the next two years. The place was looking tired, though, and could use a refresh. We had the Van Gogh suite, which was fun, but its furniture wasn't comfortable. It's away from the city center, in a nice mixed-use neighborhood that feels a bit self-contained. Walking to the central district takes a while. Service was polite and professional, if somewhat cool. I could understand that, since staff were either finishing their jobs at week's end or moving to another hotel.

We spent about two hours in the lounge, from 5 to 7 pm, before heading to a place nearby. The view over the city was lovely, and the room felt welcoming. Everything was clean and tidy, clearly well looked after. Since my friend and I had a meeting planned, it was nice that this was the venue. I've stayed at the hotel a few times, but hadn't visited the lounge before. Dyangell looked after us that evening. He was kind and professional, checked that we were comfortable, answered our questions, and showed us where the self-service area was. The chicken and empanadas were delicious, and we both really enjoyed them. Thanks for the hospitality.

Anastasia made breakfast especially memorable. She greeted us with a bright smile and such genuine warmth that our mornings felt even nicer. The restaurant was cozy and organized, with plenty of tasty choices. It was my first stay at Hilton Amsterdam, and the breakfast was a wonderful part of it. Thank you, Anastasia!

Roberto’s was a highlight. Naomi was welcoming, attentive, and warm, and the food was excellent, nicely presented, and fairly priced for its quality. The room was spacious, quiet, and thoughtfully designed, making it comfortable after a long journey. Clean and stylish throughout. A really good stay.

The hotel is in a calm, quiet spot but still gives easy access around the city. Everyone on staff was sincerely friendly and accommodating. Breakfast service was lovely, and the executive lounge happy hour was a great perk. Livia and Sophie took especially kind care of us in the lounge.
