We stayed two nights, and housekeeping never came to the room. The kitchenette was a nice feature, and there was a capsule coffee machine, but the stay felt pretty average overall. The room cleanliness was the main letdown. There was a bloody nose booger on the shower wall, the toilet bowl wasn’t properly clean further inside, and a few marks remained on the otherwise freshly washed and ironed sheets. Breakfast downstairs was slow despite there being few occupied tables. The scrambled eggs came with rather bland bread, though I really liked the yogurt bowl. We drove in and had trouble finding parking. The hotel has an underground garage, but we were told to park somewhere on the street, which wasn’t convenient and cost extra. Staff were fine, just doing their jobs, and nothing particularly exceptional; most seemed quite young.

The shared kitchen was a useful part of my stay, since I could make breakfast and simple meals there. Some utensils and pans could have been looked after better by other guests, though I know that’s hard for a hotel to control in a shared living setup. I spent five days at Jansen Hotel on a business trip and found the place clean, comfortable, and well connected. The metro is about a seven-minute walk away, and the city centre is under ten minutes by metro. Everything worked smoothly. Marcos, Sean, and the rest of the staff were welcoming and helpful. For Amsterdam prices, I thought it was very good value. The mix of location, comfort, and service makes it a strong choice, and I’d stay again on a future visit.

The room was spacious and convenient, with a comfortable bed, fridge, and coffee machine. I also really liked breakfast, and the restaurant food was very good. The location suited my needs, but I wouldn’t suggest it for a sightseeing trip. The nearest station is about a 12-minute walk away and another is 18 minutes away. The route from the hotel follows a canal, with an uneven path and dead animals along it, which was awful. That distance also made the price make more sense to me. The staff were polite, but I wouldn’t call them especially nice; some came across as quite arrogant. They seemed extremely busy covering reception, café, and bar duties, and I saw them doing all sorts of jobs. When I was leaving and reading reviews, I realised there was a kitchen, but I hadn’t known about it during my stay.

The hotel was generally clean, but my shower drain was completely blocked and nobody did anything to fix it. I stayed two nights and asked to add three more, but they said the property was fully booked. I also found the staff unfriendly and unhelpful throughout my stay.
