Hotel JL No76

We had a very warm welcome at HotelJLNo76, and the staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. We felt well looked after, and it added a lot to our trip to the Netherlands. Our Executive double room was comfortable and had everything we needed, including a hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities, and a spotless, working bathroom. We stayed three nights with breakfast included. There was a full continental spread as well as cooked items, and the 7am start worked well with our early plans. The location was ideal for our museum and gallery visits. The hotel is a five-minute walk from the Rijksmuseum, close to shops, bars, and restaurants, and right by De Pijp, which has plenty to see and do. It’s a quiet area with lots nearby, and we preferred it to the busier parts of town. There’s also an Albert Heijn beside the Van Gogh museum. Transport was easy. Tram number 2 is a short walk away at Museumplein and goes to the centre and Amsterdam Centraal. Airport bus 397/N97 leaves nearby too. We found the trams and buses simple to use, just tap a debit card when getting on and off.

I’ve stayed near Central Station on my many trips to dam, and now I realise that was an expensive mistake. This hotel is surprisingly cheap for its location. If you’re new to dam, the same money in the centre could get you a dive, while here the rooms are great, the bathroom is good, and I have no complaints. You can walk to everything, or catch a tram about five minutes away to head towards the centre, shopping, or parks. Check out the road behind the hotel if you’re interested in high-end designers. It’s not my thing, but I guess it’s dam’s version of knightbridge. We flew in, took the train, and reached the hotel less than an hour after leaving the plane.

We loved this hotel on our first visit to Amsterdam. It works really well for families, with spacious rooms, lots of places to eat within a 10-minute walk, good transport links, and an honesty bar in the lobby. The staff were friendly and accommodating, too. We’d absolutely stay again and highly recommend it.

The room was spacious, and the hotel felt very safe. It’s in a peaceful part of the city, away from the tourist hot spots, but close to the tram, metro, and museums.
