Hotel TwentySeven

The suites had everything we could want, with impressive mini bars, and the cocktail bar is worth stopping by for a good drink. Staff were friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the bar. Hotel TwentySeven is luxurious and right in central Amsterdam. The location is especially handy if, like us, it’s your first time in the city. We’ll definitely stay again when we return.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel TwentySeven. The whole staff went out of their way to make us happy. Our room was well equipped and nicely decorated, and we enjoyed the amenities. Breakfast was a culinary experience in itself. We’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

I booked two nights in a Junior Suite with Hilton Honors points, worth about $1,800 per night. Since it wasn’t yet clear whether my child would travel with us, I asked ahead if she could stay in the room if she did. The hotel said “sure,” but then told me they’d require an upgrade to the next room category at €133 per night, plus €125 per night for an extra bed. That came to €516 just for my child to stay with us. I know hotels charge for extras, but this felt excessive and completely unreasonable. Hundreds of euros for a child to share a room is unacceptable. I booked through Hilton.com, and even if the property isn’t directly run by Hilton, I’m disappointed Hilton lists hotels with questionable practices on its platform. This kind of experience seriously undermines my trust in the brand. If you want to be overcharged in true Dutch style, this is your hotel.

The suites really stand out, with beautiful fabrics, artwork and custom interiors. Breakfast was great, and the tasting flights were fun. By the time you’ve taken your time over the meal, you probably won’t need lunch. The bar offers an enjoyable mixology experience, and the staff were all great. This is a stylish boutique hotel with design and service to match. Its spot on Dam Square makes it easy to walk around and see the sights. A wonderful experience!
