Hotel V Nesplein

A lovely place with great service. It’s a two-minute walk from Dam square, and the rooms were spacious, warm, and cozy. We took two showers, and the water stayed hot the whole time. The rooms were quiet too.

It’s a great base for downtown Amsterdam, with lots of cafés and restaurants within a five-minute walk. Rokin station is three minutes away, so the airport takes under 30 minutes and RAI CONGRESS center under 15. I’d come back for business, though the street noise could be an issue if you want quiet, especially on Friday or Saturday. The room was a good size, but both it and the general atmosphere felt too dark and industrial for me. There’s no air-conditioning you can control, and by late September it was getting too warm. A floor fan was provided, and one window tilted open a little. Everyone was polite. Dinner room service was quick, and the wine they brought was more than a glass, which I appreciated. The Lobby restaurant on the ground floor was quite good. Breakfast was decent, though I’d order à la carte instead of prepaying. The coffee at The Lobby was too bitter, but there was a Nespresso-style machine with good coffee in the room.

Our suite was spacious and well equipped, with really comfortable beds and pillows. They left complimentary bubbly for us on arrival and in the room, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. The location is fairly central, so we’ll probably stay here again on our next visit.

The staff were what made the stay stand out. From check-in through dining and housekeeping, everyone was warm, attentive, professional, and kind, with a personal touch that made me feel at home. The facilities were clean, comfortable, and well cared for, so the whole visit felt relaxing. I had a truly wonderful time here and will definitely return on my next trip. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a good hotel with people who genuinely care about their guests.
