The houseboat was so still that I never felt it move, and the quiet made it easy to rest. Everything was spotless, and the mattresses were really comfortable and high quality. We stayed at Reiwa from 27-30 June 2024, and Tom and his five pampered their guests with thoughtful little touches throughout. The room Tom showed us was a beautifully decorated suite with armchairs and a coffee table. It had plenty of towels, bathroom amenities, a choice of pillows, a Nespresso coffee machine, a kettle, milk and coffee capsules, tea bags, and a powerful hair dryer. The house itself is lovely and modern, and I was taken with the garden as soon as we arrived, both its beauty and variety. Tom also lent us bicycles, which made it easy to get around and enjoy a few days feeling like authentic Dutch locals. We had an extraordinary stay, and I highly recommend this place to “live” in Amsterdam.

The rooms are small, with just enough space for two people and luggage, and they aren't fancy. Still, they felt comfortable and livable, and the beds were so good we struggled to get up each morning. Robes and water were provided too. It felt like a lovely spot for a romantic getaway, and we could easily have stayed longer. Ton and his wife Tomoko were wonderful hosts. Ton responded to whatever we needed and even offered us a ride to the station when we left. They also made amazing breakfasts every day. Breakfast is included if you book on their website instead of through a hotel site, which also helps them out. The location is peaceful, a short walk from bus and trolley stops that can take you anywhere. A livelier strip is about ten minutes away on foot, so you can be near the fun without being right in the middle of it. It's easy to walk, run, or bike around. If you're looking to party, this quiet area probably isn't for you. We can't say enough good things about this cozy b&b and would absolutely stay again when we're back in Amsterdam.
