I don't really understand the complaints about this place. The price fits the very good location. Sure, you can hear noise from the nightclub below, but there are earplugs provided, and it didn't bother me. The beds were comfortable, definitely not like prison beds, and while the rooms are small, that matches the price and was fine for somewhere to sleep at night. The bathrooms were decent and fairly clean. The one thing I couldn't ignore was the constant weed smell in the room, though I expected that since it was above a coffeeshop. I'd stay again.

The hotel staff were fantastic, with no complaints about the people at all. The noise was awful, though. The hotel is above ‘Prime’ nightclub, and the music banged until 5am, shaking the room. I've traveled a lot, and this was probably an all-time low. If you want to sleep before 5am, I'd recommend staying somewhere else.

I spent about 10 days there and was tired most of the time. I couldn't sleep properly, and ended up with headaches, red eyes, and dizziness. The noise around Rembrandt Square goes on all night, with people gathering at its roughly five clubs and pubs. People also talked, laughed, shouted, and smoked joints under the windows. The building is about 140 years old, and the stairs to the fourth floor are very steep. The owner of REMBRANDT SQUARE HOTEL doesn't mention on booking.com that the hotel is above two ground-floor venues: the smoke shop called " SMOKY " and PRIME, a discotheque. They're open every day, from 11:00 PM to 3:00 AM on weekdays and 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM on weekends. The speakers are so loud the walls shake. Twelve of the hotel's 20 rooms face the street, so there's a high chance of being placed in one directly above PRIME and "SMOKY ". In that situation, the speaker volume makes sleep impossible. Hiding information feels manipulative, like they're tricking people into paying. The owner is rude, traps people into paying him online, and comes across as a narcissist and a capitalist who cares about profit over guests' needs and basic right to sleep well. I also believe legal frameworks in the Netherlands, including the Uniform Conditions for the Hotel and Catering Industry (UVH), govern the relationship between hospitality businesses and guests and require providers to avoid misleading or false advertising. If a property's location is materially misrepresented, that could be unfair. I highly recommend avoiding Rembrandt hotel and Rembrandt square. You'll pay and suffer.

Avoid this awful place. They wouldn't let me have someone over for the evening, and they refused to give us a double bed. The bed itself was very uncomfortable, and it felt as if we were being watched in prison. The noise was extreme. Worst hotel of my life!

The location is handy, close to the centre and shops, with lots of places to eat nearby. The woman at reception was friendly when she checked us in. The room itself was very basic: we had twin beds, a TV that didn't work, and a sink with a dirty tap that needs updating. There were stains on the carpet, a dirty curtain, and marks on the wall. The shared bathrooms were tiny and simple, with no ventilation, so the floor stayed wet. They were clean and often smelled of bleach, though the whole hotel had an overpowering smell of cheap air freshener at times. Getting our luggage up the incredibly steep, narrow stairs was a challenge. The hotel is above two weed cafes, so the smell was always there, and the loud music made sleeping difficult. I'd suggest it for one night, but for a longer stay I'd look elsewhere.
