The guesthouse matched the pictures, and we’d gladly come back on another Amsterdam visit. The owner was great and very flexible, letting us choose our checkout time and store our luggage until departure. Snacks and drinks were included in the room price, and the place had central heating, which was essential during our cold-season visit.

The location worked well: there’s an airport bus, a tram to Central Station, and museums within walking distance. Several restaurants are nearby, including Mc Donald and a hala food shop called Crystal. Mr.Nico was very friendly and helpful, and fortunately my luggage was light because the stairs are very narrow and steep, though Mr. Nico helped carry it. The price seemed on the high side. The canal-side room shown online is only one room. Check-out was listed as 12 noon, but I was pressed to leave by 11 am. There’s no breakfast, despite what the name might lead you to expect.

Sir Nico was an awesome host, and the location and cleanliness were both 10/10. The mini bar also gets 10/10, while the wifi gets 8/10. All in all, one of the best places I’ve stayed. Thank You Sir Nico.
