Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam

We felt at home here, thanks to the staff, and the location made sightseeing easy. Our Junior Suite was clean and roomy, with all the amenities we needed, and the bed was so comfortable we slept without interruption. Ise’ from the food and beverage team helped make dining memorable. A relaxing stay, and I’d definitely recommend the hotel. Thanks to everyone at Sofitel The Grand Amsterdam!

We ordered crème brûlée to have with a film, and room service brought it quickly. Later, Waldo from the night service talked us through the TV mirroring option, which worked in under a minute. The restaurant food was delicious and nicely served, and the staff were friendly and smiling. Isabelle took care of everything, including an upgrade to a magnificent junior suite for us as Black card holders. It was smaller than what we’re used to in the United States, but the view over the courtyard was breathtaking. Marc handled our luggage professionally. The hotel is right in the center of Amsterdam, making it easy to get around. We definitely want to return.

We were sorry to leave because the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, and the customer service really stood out. The hotel is close to the sights and to seemingly endless shopping. Our room could use an upgrade, but we still had an incredible stay and can’t wait to come back.

We first stayed at Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam in November 2025, when we booked a suite and were upgraded to one of the hotel's largest. The staff were warm and attentive throughout, and one person even spoke Indonesian after learning that we were Indonesian. That small gesture made us feel at home. Breakfast was superb, and the central location put our favorite chinese restaurant, cookie shop and poffertjes cafe within walking distance. We came back this month unexpectedly for a funeral and chose the hotel again because of that first stay. This time we had booked a standard room for one night, but they upgraded us to a beautiful canal-view suite. The team's care and sensitivity while we were grieving meant a great deal. After a long, emotionally exhausting day with family, the spacious, elegant, peaceful room was a real comfort and let us rest. We’re deeply grateful for the kindness and hospitality, and will return whenever we’re in Amsterdam.
