The Blossom House Amsterdam

It felt so homely here, and the service was lovely. The room was great and the location even better. We’ll book it again next time we’re in Amsterdam.

We slept so well that we ended up buying the same box spring mattresses for home. The hosts were incredibly kind, and the beds felt like heaven. If you can, go for the ground floor room. You’re right in the centre, only a few metres from the Anne Frank House. Honestly, it felt like a dream.

I made a mistake by using a vaporizer in the room last year, which wasn’t allowed, and I admitted it and apologized several times. Still, the owner yelled at me in the middle of the night and threatened to call the police. I’d explained that I didn’t know the rule, but he reacted as though something much more serious had happened. We left the next day and found somewhere else to stay, and he didn’t refund me. I understand that I was at fault for using it. What I can’t accept is being shouted at like that. This place is run by a couple of men, and the owner seemed completely out of control over a situation that didn’t call for that response. He clearly needs more customer service training. I’m writing this while talking about the bad parts of our trip, and his erratic behavior was one of them. The place presents itself as open-minded, with little flags hanging around, but my experience didn’t match that. If he ever visits Mexico or somewhere else in Latin America, he could learn something about service and warmth. I’ll leave it there, since Google won’t let me publish more.

The service was attentive and caring, and we had an exceptional stay.
