When we arrived, another family and we waited outside for at least an hour until the owner came after we called. He said he’d lost all our bookings and blamed the booking company, despite having been in touch with me. He took us to a different place, which was really nice. The next morning, though, we got a call saying we had to move rooms because a group of three was coming and our room had three beds, even though there were only two of us. Before the trip, I never received a confirmation. I emailed with no response, then reached them a month ahead and was told they’d send one two weeks before the stay. Nothing came, and after I contacted them a week before arrival, they finally sent it.

The room was nice and in a perfect location, and the owner and staff were friendly and helpful. The organization could be better, though. We were left waiting outside the door for at least an hour. I’d suggest giving your arrival time when booking to avoid a wait.

A poor place to stay, and a bit uncomfortable.

The location is fantastic, and we had a great time in Amsterdam. Our apartment was clean and fairly new, with two single beds, a relatively new bathroom, a small kitchenette, and an amazing rooftop terrace overlooking the whole city. It was simply furnished, more like an apartment with rooms rented individually. We were initially asked if we’d move to another apartment, which we weren’t keen on after reading other reviews, but in the end there was no need to change. We’d been a bit skeptical because of the negative reviews. We were asked to give a specific arrival time, but got to Amsterdam much earlier. Since there was no reception, we couldn’t leave our luggage, which was a nuisance. The many steep stairs are real, but they didn’t bother us. We’d definitely stay here again.
