Xaviera Hollanders ''Happy House Bed & Breakfast''

We're spending our first trip to the Netherlands here, a surprise birthday trip my husband booked. I'm writing this on our second-to-last night. We came with our Doberman and cat, and they were welcomed just as warmly as we were. The hosts are engaging and made us feel very welcome. They're ready to help with whatever you need, and can point you toward places you hadn't even realized you wanted to go. Xaviera's story was part of what my husband told me before we arrived. Our plans for the trip looked quite different in our heads, but staying at this bed and breakfast has turned out to be the highlight. I wouldn't say it feels like staying with family, since vacation is my time to get away from family and enjoy rest and adventure. This place has a lot of heart, and I fully intend to come back many times.

The rooms were nice, but we had plumbing trouble during our stay. My friend had flushed a few tampons, which caused a blockage. Xaviera charged us 600 EU to have it "fixed." I emailed to ask for a copy of the bill so I could check that the amount made sense and that we weren't being overcharged. She replied with an accusatory email and promised to send the bill, but never did. I think this woman is a sell-out and a crook.

Parking is available on the premises next to the accommodation. Xaviera and Philip are great hosts, really 'couleur locale', and have some very interesting stories.

Xaviera and her husband are a lovely couple, and I had a comfortable stay. The breakfast was delicious, and that's really important to me lollll.
