We rented bikes and reached The Hertog brewery in just an 8-minute ride. We barely spent time at the hotel since most of our visit was at the Hertog Jan Brewery and Café Hertog Jan, but the room was good, with a great bathroom and bed. Breakfast was pretty good too, with everything we needed. A great place for a night.

My husband and I were out at the last minute looking for good food when we passed this lovely place. The service was quick and really friendly. We both ordered steak, cooked beautifully, with delicious sides. Thanks for a wonderful dinner!

We wouldn't want to stay here longer than one night. We got the sense that guests weren't appreciated, which is a real problem in hospitality. There's no lift, and the first set of stairs felt almost impossible to climb with luggage. We had an issue with the room safe, though I'm not sure whose fault it was. When I called, I was told someone who could handle it would come later. I called back about an hour later and got the strong impression my first message hadn't been passed on. The room wasn't cleaned one day even though we'd put out the "please clean room" sign. The hotel apologized. The price and quality don't match: over Euro 130 for a dark attic room is an absolute no. The toilet looked like it was from the seventies. We had dinner there one night, ordering two tasty burgers, a few glasses of wine, and dessert, and it came to almost EURO 90. That's too much. We felt management may be a bit spoiled by the central location. Frankly, I don't think we'll return.
