Villa Berk en Heide

We were told we’d be staying in a cozy “Tiny House,” but what we found was dark, cramped, and nothing like the photos or description. It felt like a converted storage room attached to a residential building, with almost no windows. There was no real daylight, just a little light from the back door, which faced a tall wooden fence barely a meter away. There was no ventilation, and the damp, moldy smell made me nauseous within minutes. I had to go outside to breathe. With health issues, this felt dangerous. Old furniture and random objects cluttered the floor, creating a real tripping risk. The low ceiling and heavy air made the place feel oppressive, like a dark cellar. “Dungeon” would have been a more honest name than “Tiny House.” We called the owner to explain that the place was unacceptable and uninhabitable. He was rude and ended the call abruptly. Even the person who gave us the keys seemed to understand why we were leaving. We had no choice but to abandon the stay right away, losing time and money and having our whole weekend ruined. This was misleading, unhygienic, and unfit for guests. The listing should be removed from the platform. It’s a serious health and safety risk, and Booking.com shouldn’t list accommodation like this without proper inspection.

The apartment was great, especially having a proper kitchen, and the staff gave us a warm welcome. They went beyond what I expected to help me with a couple of things. We were there for just a couple of nights, and I really didn’t want to leave :))

The host was really kind, and the room had plenty of appliances. We only stayed one night, but felt very welcome. The rooms were super cozy.

The vintage feel adds to the place, and it has a kitchen. It’s quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nature.
