I was here for a conference and paid 160 Euro, which didn’t feel right given the problems. The rooms were freezing because the heating had an issue, but staff didn’t tell me at check-in. They just put a very loud electric heater in the room. It was too noisy to leave on at night, and I was worried it could be a fire hazard. When I raised this, the staff were defensive and not helpful.

The room was clean, comfortable, and cosy, and even the conditioner was excellent. The amenities were well equipped, and the receptionist was especially kind, going out of her way to make the service feel warm and genuine. I had an amazing stay at Hotel Papendal Arnhem and would love to come back. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Arnhem.

The breakfast was okay, but I wouldn’t choose this hotel again. It’s not central, and you need a car to get around the city. The room was cold, and although staff said they’d check it and bring a blanket, they didn’t. The night person wouldn’t help me find one, so I slept poorly. The gym was tiny and had no real equipment, and access to other areas wasn’t available, which felt misleading when the amenities were presented as guest facilities. My room also lacked a fridge and coffee machine, had poor lighting, and the bed sagged. Material from underneath it was scattered across the floor. I’d booked a king bed but got two twins, and they couldn’t change it.

I keep coming back to this hotel. I love the outdoor setting, which feels like an escape from the city, and it’s an official partner with team NL Olympic!

The rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable. The location worked very well for an event, and the food at the Olympic resturant was very nice.
