B&B de Koffietuin

We came through a Social Deal for the walking lunch, so I can't say anything about the rooms. The route guide was a nice extra, and after walking around the Bruggelen estate and manor house, we came back to a tasty meal: stew with endive and vegetarian meatballs, or Indonesian pointed cabbage. We'd love to get the recipe for the cabbage to have with bratwurst. Before setting off, Erik and the dog gave us a warm welcome in the backyard, with homemade brownie and coffee. The generous charcuterie board after our cycling route was so filling we could barely finish it, and the low price made us wonder how that was possible. We'd chosen the cycling route through Social Deal, though a walk was also an option. Before heading out, we had coffee or tea and lovely homemade pastries. Erik is a spontaneous, wonderful host with a heart of gold, and we enjoyed chatting with him. We ordered drinks, then left an extra tip to get some treats for Manu. Erik adopted him from Hungary, where he'd been a stray. After arriving in the Netherlands, it turned out he had several health problems and needed an operation. Nobody wanted him, so he spent a year at the shelter in a kennel. Erik took him in and paid for the operation. What an animal lover. Manu is happy now and has a really good life. He does bark, but wouldn't hurt a fly. Erik still takes him to training to work on the barking, though it didn't bother us and Manu settled with us quickly. We'd gladly visit again, and recommend coming by. Thanks, Erik, for the good food and lovely conversation! 🥰

After a 34 km ride, we were ready for drinks and a snack platter. The rustic garden was a cozy place to start from, with a homemade brownie and lovely coffee before we set off with the bike route. One thing to remember: park your car on Arnhemseweg. Thanks, Eric, we're sure to come back.
