The hotel sits in a lovely location, and the staff were friendly throughout. Breakfast was very good, while the rooms were adequate and the beds fine. The building itself feels worn, though. The carpets, stairs, and lift could all use an uplift.

The staff were really helpful and friendly, and the hotel itself is nice. The outdoor pool was good for cooling off on a hot day, though it's not very large. Tired decor and motorway noise made it hard to sleep. I wouldn't suggest staying longer than a night or two.

The breakfast is fabulous, and the restaurant food isn't bad if you can get a table. But you can't eat there without a reservation, and twice during our five days there were no reservations available. Room service only offered onion rings and cheese sticks, nothing from the menu, and service was slow. The front desk clerks were impolite. The rooms aren't air-conditioned and get very hot on the front side. It should be a one-star place.

The room we had, 121, cost 74 Euros a night and felt stuck in 1985. The bathroom was very worn and not clean enough, despite the housekeeper's confirmation that it had been cleaned. The room smelled strongly of the previous guest's sweat, the bedside lamps were damaged, and the wallpaper was coming loose. The housekeeper hadn't restocked the tissues or the little toilet bag holder. Outside, the garbage can by our parking space was overflowing. When we told someone, they said they'd just started and were alone. That's not information for guests. They should have thanked us and arranged to have it cleaned. The welcome was poor too: at arrival they only asked which name the reservation was under, with no greeting like “Welcome” or “Goedemiddag”. When we checked out the next day, another Fletch colleague only asked for the room key, instead of asking how our stay had been. This was a very bad hotel experience, and we don't feel encouraged to return.
