The Bridge

There’s a good range of things at breakfast, and cafes and restaurants are easy to reach on foot. The hotel is beside the canals, a little over a mile’s walk from Centrum. It can be tricky to find, and I got lost a few times, though Amsterdam is hard to navigate at the best of times. The price was reasonable, the staff polite and helpful, and my room was just right for me, with a comfortable bed and a good shower. I also had access to a small enclosed garden. Cleanliness was good overall.

The buffet breakfast has plenty to choose from, and the staff speak English and are very helpful. They even printed my boarding pass for me. The location is fantastic, beside the Amstel river and one of the main canals. Rooms are clean, well furnished, and quite spacious by Amsterdam standards. If you’re in a larger group, the top floor room has a terrace and some lounge space. Just be aware of the steep stairs and lack of an elevator.

A very pleasant budget hotel right in central Amsterdam. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, and our room looked out over the canal. Rembrandt Square and Dam square were both an easy walk away. We’d definitely stay again.

After the 40-hour trip from Australia, we were so glad to find the staff and hotel superb. Our beds were comfortable, the food was first class, and the stay was perfect. The manager deserves a gold star for suggesting a visit to the Village of Edam. It was a highlight of our trip to Holland.
