Hotel Eetcafe van Ee

The location is great, with all the shops you need a slow 5-15 minute walk away. The area felt lively, though when the street got too noisy I could close the windows and block it out. I loved how warmly they welcomed me and the service here. My room was cleaned every day, which I really appreciated since I was working nearby during the day and came back to a clean room each evening. The TV was nice before bed, and the coffee machine made really tasty coffee. The refrigerator worked well too. A-ma-zing. I’d love to stay here again on next year’s business trip. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

The room is above a nightclub, and about an hour before check-in the hotel sends a message warning that there may be some “cafe noise.” What that meant in practice was music so loud it felt like the club speakers were in our bedroom. The noise went on from 10 pm until 9 am. We don’t go to bed early, but it would have been nice if it had stopped by at least 4 am. After that, we expected some sympathy from the owner, but they seemed to think it wasn’t a problem. Getting some sleep is the minimum you expect from a hotel. I’d even have considered sleeping in my car. Worst hotel ever!

The view from the window is amazing, especially in summer when everything outside is green and the weather is sunny. It can get noisy from the music and people hanging out in front of the hotel.

There’s no reception or other facilities, just a simple room with a shower above a nightclub. The “boutique” description is a bit hard to understand. The city centre location means noise until 3 am, though that was mentioned in the description beforehand. It may be a nice place to sleep after a night out.
