Van der Valk Hotel Eindhoven Best

After 4 in the afternoon, it seems you can’t just come in for coffee and pastries. You’re sent to the hotel bar, whatever that means. When I said I didn’t want to sit in the bar, the woman still directed me there, speaking unpleasantly because they had to get ready for dinner. The service was disappointing, bad, and unprofessional. Thankfully, I spent my money somewhere else 😊

I liked my stay and would come back when I’m in the area. The hotel felt very new, with a clean, modern, freshly furnished room and a brand new bathroom. The huge tub and separate shower were great, though the toilet was in its own separate space. There was a nice view through the glass window, which could also be a balcony view in summer. Breakfast was a very nice buffet. I was told there’s also a pool, sauna, and gym, but my short one-night business trip didn’t leave time to try them. Parking at the hotel was free.

We paid and left, and we’ll never return. I came with three friends on Sunday evening for a 70th birthday celebration. The meal was pleasant, but only after eating did we notice the tiny note inside the bill envelope saying bills couldn’t be split. The €188 bill was to be shared across three cards, €66 each, so the three of us could treat our friend. Staff refused, and the manager also said one person had to pay it all on one card. When I asked what if none of us had €188 in our accounts, the manager replied, “you shouldn’t come out to eat in a restaurant then”!!!!! Unbelievable. We weren’t hotel guests, and after that we never will be.

The suite had a nice view, and its bathtub was especially good. Cute hotel with lots of space, great decor, and psychedelic lighting. The gym was nice too. It was weird that they put a lot of mayo in every dish, even when we asked for none, hahaha. We had a great time here ❤️❤️❤️
