Bergvliet Villa's

The houses are spacious and could make a good destination, especially for golf fans. But the service, or lack of it, earned this place a one-star rating from me. For somewhere costing over 700 euros a night, this was the worst service I’ve experienced. Check-in felt cold and impersonal. We paid for an extra baby cot, but it wasn’t assembled and had no sheets. The sofa was dirty. At checkout, we were charged for supposedly breaking the house rules, even though we left the house in better condition than we found it and took out all the rubbish as requested when we checked in. It makes no sense to pay premium prices for a luxury-style stay and then be expected to handle all the little cleaning jobs at checkout. Even a cheap Airbnb doesn’t do that. I’m also stunned management hasn’t acted, given how many reviews mention this issue. Avoid.

We arrived today and the place exceeded our expectations. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful, and the houses were very clean. The restaurant was just as inviting and cozy, the food was excellent, and the staff were on top of everything. We’d had a tough month and really needed this getaway. Thank you.

The house and its surroundings are lovely, but you really need a car to get anywhere. At night there was a lot of shouting from the neighbours, including loud noise next door that went on until around midnight. For a family of eight, one small bar of hand soap and a single cloth weren’t enough. Bring your own soap, iron, hairdryer and similar basics. We also thought it was odd to have to empty the rubbish and dishwasher ourselves when the stay costs over 300 euros a night. There weren’t any teal facilities available.

A lovely spot for a break, with a golf course and spa right there. Local shops and restaurants are close by, and Breda city centre isn’t far away either.
