Bliss Boutique Hotel

The location right in the heart of Breda was a real plus, and the suite was very comfortable, with a great bed and cozy design. We had the Business Suite, room 8, on the top floor. It’s spacious, with a see-through fireplace, double shower, bathtub and an extra pull-out bed. You can catch a glimpse of the Grote Kerk through the skylights, though it isn’t a proper view. There were a few snags: check-in by hologram felt impersonal, the elevator wasn’t working and there was no minibar. The hotel bar was closed from Saturday to Sunday, and seating in the breakfast room is limited, so you might have to wait. Even so, it’s a suite I’d recommend.

I was visiting friends who were staying here, and the place looked WOW. The rooms are beautifully decorated. It’s right in the heart of Breda.

The breakfast was good, but I wouldn’t stay here again. For 270.00 Euro on a Thursday night, I expected more from the business class room on the 3rd floor. It was huge and spacious, but the decor felt dated, especially the carpet, and the room could have been made more attractive. There wasn’t a manual anywhere explaining how to turn on the fireplace. The massive shower cubicle looked impressive at first, but it needs renovating. Up close, the sealant by the door had brown, dirty spots, and the drain cover was loose. The beds were neatly made, though the mattresses were huge and very soft. The room price felt completely out of line with the luxury suggested by the website photos.

We had a top-floor room with a fire in the middle, which was great when it was -7 outside. The rooms are amazing, and the location is hard to beat, with bars and restaurants right on the doorstep. Staff were great too, and breakfast was relaxed. Really enjoyed our stay.
