What stayed with me most was how much the hotel cared about guests feeling welcome and looked after. I've travelled for work for long stretches and stayed in all sorts of places around the world, from luxury hotels to private homes and very simple hotels, and that kind of warmth is priceless. There are new rooms, parking, a good bar and good food too.

The rooms were simple, but had the basics, including soap. There was no tea or coffee, shampoo or conditioner. We stopped at the Atlas during a cycling trip, and the staff were super friendly. The cycle parking was great, and breakfast was a really good buffet.

We had a misunderstanding about the accommodation conditions, but the receptionist was so helpful and welcoming. The whole team made us feel well received, and we really enjoyed the excellent breakfast. Thanks to everyone on staff for being so kind and professional.

The stairs are worth knowing about, since there's no elevator. Otherwise, I recommend this cozy hotel in a charming area. Free parking is a rare plus for a hotel in a location like this. Our room was clean and spacious, and the single-size bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a typical English one, with good coffee and pastries.

A very nice hotel, with a lively bar on Friday night...
