I recently took part in a cooking and tapas workshop led by Patrick Sassen of Dasousa Catering. The kitchen was impressively large, and the people there were nice.

We liked the quiet location and the staff were really pleasant and helpful. Our big room had a view over the lake, but the bed was too soft for us. Dinner in the restaurant was lovely. Breakfast had plenty of choice, although some items had run out by our second day.

My room felt like a fully furnished apartment, with a balcony and a gorgeous view of the golf course. The restaurant and bar were exceptional, the staff pleasant and multilingual, breakfast was fabulous, and the grounds felt safe. It’s about a ten minute drive to town and shopping, and NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen is just 10 minutes away. I only wish I had more than two thumbs to raise for this property.

The only real annoyance was the road into the hotel. A strange blockage sent you into the golf course parking lot, and you needed a coin from reception to get out. Google Maps and Waze gave wrong directions because of it. The room was very spacious, with a separate bedroom and living room. The bed was two singles pushed together, but it worked perfectly for me. There were beautiful views of the golf course and countryside, and the restaurant offered a nice range of food and beer.
