The location is nice, but the houses were quite dirty, with animal droppings all over the porch, and they lacked basic equipment. Sheets cost extra, around €20 per person, which was a hidden accommodation charge, and their quality was very poor. The local restaurant was horrible too, with arrogant service behind the bar. I wish I’d never gone there.

The rooms were okay, though not great, and the website photos didn’t match what we found. Still, it’s a good place to stay if you’re planning to ride the trails in the Brunssummerheide.

The area is beautiful, but the poor cottages spoiled it. They apparently think temperatures up to 38.5 degrees Celsius in the cottages are acceptable. You can’t open a window at night because it isn’t burglar proof. It’s absolutely not worth the price.

We hired bikes at a good price, and the holiday home itself was spacious and had everything we needed. The restaurant on site was nice, though there wasn’t much else besides a children’s play area. Check-in closed at 5pm, which felt very early. There were lots of cobwebs and daddy long legs, so the cleaning could have been better. We’d stay again as a base for an event nearby, but it was annoying to pay extra for towels.
