A good campsite, clean throughout, including the toilets. There’s a pump track where kids can ride bikes, scooters and similar things. They also have a restaurant, bike rentals and a self-scan checkout at the supermarket.

We came as a family of five, all keen to get on our bikes and have a relaxing break. The site is so clean that you’d think nobody had used the wash areas. There’s lots for children to do, and it kept ours happy. I especially liked how peaceful and not overly touristy the whole area is.

Both my son and I got sick on the day we were meant to travel. I contacted the hotel to ask about changing our booking or getting any flexibility, but the reply was blunt: tough luck, and we’d still be charged for the whole stay. I know that may be allowed under their terms, but I expected a more understanding, considerate response from a family hotel. Families should know there may be very little compassion or support if something unexpected happens.

We stayed in family bungalow type F, which was spacious, well kept and had a lovely garden. The staff were friendly, and the dunes and beach are within walking distance. There are facilities for most things, including kids of all ages and a pool with four big water slides. For us, it’s the best place to stay on Texel. We’ll definitely be back!
