The grounds are enchanting, with ponds, hedges and wild flowers, and the hotel has the cozy, welcoming feel of your grandparents' country estate. Rooms are tastefully decorated with quality antiques. The restaurant serves very high-quality food made with local ingredients. The head waiter is caring and obliging, and the waitresses are attentive, friendly and genuinely pleasant. You aren't hurried through your meal, which matters. Breakfast has plenty to choose from, and the bill was a pleasant surprise. As someone who travels around Western Europe often, I'd put Het Ros van Twente among the top five places I've visited in the last ten years. The staff across every department deserve special mention. For me, that's 10 out of 5 stars. I'll certainly be back and couldn't recommend it more highly.

It has the feel of the English countryside, a beautiful, warm and intimate place to rest your mind and body. A great stop for hiking in the nearby nature preserve, and the breakfast is delicious too.

The owners are lovely, and the food is amazing. The surroundings are beautiful, while the rooms are quirky, clean and well organized, with good beds.

The people working here are kind and polite, and the service is excellent. It's a really cute, quaint hotel with a nice room in a beautiful area. One little downside in summer is that the room gets hot, with no air conditioning or fan. The rest is excellent.

We had an amazing pit stop during a long drive. Dinner was superb, service was excellent, and the lady who welcomed us was really friendly. The Christmas decorations were beautiful too. Especially recommended for people travelling with a dog: ours got a warm welcome and was allowed into the restaurant. It wasn't a very busy night, so that was fine. There are small ponies and sheep in the nice surroundings.
