Hotel Royal Bridges

The hotel is right in the city centre, in a boutique style with cosy rooms. I booked through Booking and got a room bigger than I expected; it was clean, and the service was very kind. They brought an iron up when I asked. Breakfast tasted good, though there wasn’t much choice, and better sausages would be welcome. The stairs are very narrow.

As a solo traveller, I was genuinely amazed by how big the room was. The staff were friendly, though housekeeping knocked on my door before noon. Next time I’d put up the do not disturb sign.

I stayed in room 105 from February 2-5 2026, when it was as cold as -2 deg C outside. The room has a great canal view, a quiet street, and three very large windows that let in lots of light. But the windows are old, about 60 years old, with a single layer of glass and top-bottom sliding wooden sections that let the wind in. When I arrived, the room was freezing. I put two heaters on 5 and set the air conditioning to 26 deg, and it took a few hours to warm up. I had to work straight away, so that wasn’t a nice experience. The screen above the desk, with an accessible HDMI socket, was really useful for connecting my laptop. You can stay here outside winter, but in winter you risk being cold.

We had a wonderful two-night stay at Hotel Royal Bridges. The historic building sits in a perfect spot with lovely canal views. Our room was roomy, comfortable, and equipped with AC, a fridge, and a Nespresso machine. The lobby coffee machine was a nice extra. I highly recommend it for a visit to Delft.
