Van der Valk Hotel Delft A4

The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere, tasty food, and impressively quick service. I’m used to Belgian service where dishes usually take a while, so that was a fun surprise! I stayed two nights in a corner room on the eighth floor. The view was magnificent, though I hadn’t expected so much noise from the nearby highway.

I’m still in shock. After a week there, during which I’d already complained about the neighbor smoking, staff accused me of smoking in my room and wouldn’t hear me out. They demanded €250 in cash, saying the card machine was broken. When I tried to leave, four staff members blocked the exit and physically stopped me. I felt threatened, and I ended up handing over €100 in cash just to get out. This happened at 11:00 PM, even though I’d paid for the night. I was left out on the street. I felt unsafe there and would warn others away.

The breakfast had just about anything you could ask for, and the spa was fabulous. I also loved the large bathroom and shower setup in the rooms. Best hotel in the area.

We were very happy with our family stay and would recommend the hotel, especially to families. The one awkward bit was the bathroom: no bidet in the main bathroom, and the separate toilet had a bidet but no sink. Otherwise, our room was spacious and clean, and everything felt fresh and modern since the hotel is quite new. Breakfast was a highlight, with lots of tasty options, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. For a family of four, it was one of the best price/quality deals we've found among places we've stayed.
