We loved staying at De Smulpot while getting to know Texel. The restaurant was incredible, the guest rooms were beautiful, and hotel breakfast was the best we’ve ever had. Excellent, excellent, excellent.

We dropped by the restaurant and bar for one night in February '25. It was packed, but the lovely, helpful staff found room for us, and the service stayed great all evening. The food was generally very good, but the onion soup was outstanding. It’s worth visiting just for that!

The restaurant had a lively buzz and a good atmosphere, with delicious food served piping hot and attentive service. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. Our room was stylish, thoughtfully lit, and had every convenience, including a great rain shower and heated, lit mirrors. We also got a delightfully personal, warm welcome, with nice touches like a handwritten note.

The food at the restaurant is delicious. Nancy, the waitress, was especially sweet, helpful, and kind. That’s why I’ll come back whenever I’m in Texel again!

Such a lovely atmosphere, and the staff were really friendly to us and our dog. The food was delicious, the portions were big, and the prices were reasonable too. I can definitely recommend stopping in for a bite 😊
