My visa was delayed, so I cancelled the booking five or six days before check-in. Booking.com already showed the hotel offered free cancellation. They contacted me on WhatsApp in a very aggressive, rude way. If they don't like cancellations, they can change their policy. I'm surprised people working in hospitality would behave like that.

The hosts refused to accommodate me because of my nationality, demanded an illegal SWIFT prepayment outside Booking.com, and replied with open rudeness and xenophobic remarks. This is discrimination and an abuse of guests' rights. I also saw many other negative reviews about dust, poor hygiene and unfriendly behavior, and wish I'd read them sooner. Completely unacceptable. Avoid this place!

The hosts were fantastic, and the breakfast was the most incredible I've ever been offered at a B&B, far more than we could do justice to. We also had interesting company from the other guests. We stayed one night on 16th September 2016 and wished we could have stayed longer. Our double room at the very top of the house felt more like a studio flat, with a small kitchen area. The location was fabulous, just across the river from town, with an easy ferry crossing that was a joy in itself. All in all, a lovely, welcoming place. Well done!

The building has a lot of history, and the rooms are nice. Breakfast was good too, which sets the place apart. It's near the oldest public park in the Netherlands, and a boat gets you to the city centre in just a few minutes.

They were very informative about Deventer and its history, and the people were friendly with excellent service. We had a very good stay with no complaints, and we'll be back.
