Hotel Wienerhof

The location is excellent and the service was good, but it’s definitely not worth the money. The rooms are far below average, and you can smell all kinds of smoke from people outside in your room. Breakfast is very basic.

The staff were extremely courteous, both at check-in and in the restaurant, and they serve a nice little breakfast in the morning. It’s an older, dated hotel above the restaurant, a little rustic but clean, especially the bathroom, which was exceptionally clean. We were looking to save money while in the area and were satisfied with the accommodations. If we’re back, we’d stay at Hotel Winterhoff again.

The staff were the best part, all friendly and competent. This is really a café and restaurant with a few rooms rather than exactly a hotel. My room was small and noisy, and too close to the little garden smoking area. People were often talking outside the window, and smoke drifted into the room. Breakfast was simple, with no real orange juice or scrambled eggs, for example.

The location is as central as it gets, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The old-fashioned rooms have no A/C, so sleeping was difficult in 30-degree heat. At the usual €100 rate for a single bed, it wouldn’t be too bad, but I paid peak summer rates and it felt overpriced. Breakfast from 6-10 was okay, not bad value, though there was no hot option. €26.50 for late checkout seemed fair.
