We stayed in the upstairs flat, which takes up the whole top floor. It has a bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a TV and sofa bed, plus a breakfast counter on the landing with a stocked fridge, microwave, and tea and coffee facilities. The layout’s a little unusual, but it worked well for us. The downstairs flat is more luxurious and costs a bit more. Bikes are available at no extra charge, handy for the roughly 1 km trip into town. The B&B is easy to find, just off the motorway. The owner doesn’t live on site, so when you order breakfast she brings it over on a tray from her home, I assume. A little odd, but the hot items were hot and everything was sealed. Breakfast is continental and costs extra. It’s a really nice place, and the owner is lovely and speaks English well. I’d stay again if I’m passing through next year. Highly recommended.

Thea gave us such a warm welcome, and this B&B is wonderfully convenient for Nij Smellinghe Hospital in Drachten. There’s a private entrance to the attractive upper floor, with a lovely living room, bedroom, and bathroom. Everything’s been thought of, from coffee and tea facilities to a fridge stocked with something for everyone. Breakfast arrives upstairs in the morning, generous and delicious. We had fresh rolls, Frisian sugar bread, currant bread, boiled eggs, meat, cheese, fresh orange juice, and more, all with a view over the meadows and grazing sheep. A wonderful place to stay. The room was spotless and tidy, and breakfast was fantastic. We were welcomed so warmly. If we’re in the area again, we’ll definitely book here.

The apartment was clean and comfortable, and the stay was very good. The owner was surprisingly nice and well organized. She was friendly and helpful on the phone too. I’d gladly come back.
