There’s lots of room outside, with comfortable places to sit, and the goats, ponies, chickens, and two cats next to the cottage are lovely. The owner is very friendly and even brought us fresh eggs. Inside, the holiday home is spacious and has everything you need: a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room, two bedrooms, and a beautiful, roomy bathroom. There’s plenty of tasty tea, plus a Senseo and a filter coffee machine.

The owners were friendly and gave us plenty of privacy. We were even given eggs and homemade walnut liqueur. The house has everything a family could need, including a travel cot, high chair, children's cutlery, baby bath, games, and a petting zoo. We’d love to come back. Thanks, Henrie & Willeke! 🙂 The apartment is cheerful, bright, and super cozy. We loved the views from the windows, whether they looked out to goats, chickens, ponies, or open fields. The sofa and beds were comfortable for us, and everything was clean and tidy, with lots of towels, bedding, and blankets. The kitchen had all the basics, including coffee and tea. There’s a private garage with rental bikes, an outdoor seating area, and you can visit the animals to pet and feed them whenever you like. It’s a great base for walks. Bathmen is an easy 10-15 minute stroll along the river, and Deventer is good for shopping and sightseeing, including a hidden church or museum. The motorway is nearby, Amsterdam is under 1.5 hours away by car, and Park+Ride from an Amsterdam suburb is best. You can shop at the Jumbo in Bathmen or Deventer.

You feel at home right away, thanks to the super friendly welcome. The beds are comfortable and it's wonderfully quiet. There’s plenty to enjoy on foot along the Schipbeek, and it’s a great place to start a bike ride. Better than I expected, with everything you need.

The animal meadow was a treat, with friendly ponies, goats, and silkies wandering over to visit. We felt surrounded by nature and quiet, with lovely open views. The A1 is close, which made us a little nervous at first, but we couldn't see or hear it at all because of the substantial dike. The cottage is spacious, bright, and stylish. We got a warm, thoughtful welcome: a personal sign, a drink, tea, and chocolate were waiting for us. Our car could go in a covered garage. The residents live behind the holiday home, but you hardly notice them, apart from a quick introduction. We'll definitely be back!
