There’s a good range of places to stay, and our lodge was fine. For cycling, bikes are available to rent, with lovely local routes through the dunes, woods and along the canal. It would suit mountain bikers too. Kids have plenty to do, from playgrounds with slides and sand to a bouncy castle, zip line and an excellent pool. There’s a good rotation of floats, and the smaller pool has a pirate ship with water slides, so the kids were happy and easy to supervise. Racing karts and mini tractors can be hired by the hour.

We spent four nights on the camp side, and it was fantastic. Our five-year-old son loved the playground and swimming. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and we’ll be back.

Our mobile home was clean and well kept. It’s a relaxed place for families with young kids, with lots of play areas, a pool and a train. You can rent bikes for a fun ride, and the nearby woods are great for trails and cycling. The sandy dunes nearby feel really exotic. Definitely recommended for families with small children.

It’s a lovely, quiet campsite. Things got very quiet from 11, and I liked that people followed the rules. We slept well, and I liked having air conditioning in our house. It feels more geared toward families with children. The app is nice and easy to use.

The kids had a lot of fun with the on-site playground and swimming pool. Our stay in the five-person house, however, left us extremely dissatisfied. The fridge was tiny, there was no proper balcony, just a table and chairs outside, the kitchen tap was slightly broken, and the toilet smelled. Check-in was at 3, but we’d been told beforehand we could enter at 2, so waiting an hour in the rain was unpleasant. Compared with a friend’s three-person cabin, which had a full-size fridge, climate control and the terrace promised to us, our facilities were disappointing. The helpdesk couldn’t solve the problem, but they were very polite. The on-site staff were rude for no reason.
