RCN De Noordster

There’s a lot to keep kids and adults entertained here. The daily activity program includes things like bingo for children and grown-ups, and there’s an indoor playground, a paddling pool outside, plus tennis and table tennis. We also got free access to the large nearby swimming complex with its different pools. The cottage’s living room and terrace were cozy and nicely decorated. The bedrooms and bathroom looked a bit dated, but were clean and well kept. We found a few things missing: no sponge, tea towel, or garbage bag for the large bin. Window and door screens would also help keep insects out. The park brasserie’s food wasn’t recommended. Still, we had a very pleasant stay in a lovely cottage with lots of amenities. A few small improvements would make it even better.

We stayed in a fantastic Safari tent for a long weekend on the first weekend of the school holidays. The site is laid out well, and we didn’t feel overlooked. My sons, 13 months and 5 years old, loved the facilities, especially the excellent indoor playground where they happily spent hours. The splash pad opened on our departure day, so we got in a quick paddle. We ate at the restaurant twice, with excellent choices and superb customer service. We also had free access to the neighboring swimming pool and outdoor play area. The pool was cool, and the outdoor area was a great surprise, it was fantastic. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, and we’ll definitely visit again. We brought our bikes and cycled from Beilen station through the beautiful national park.

We camped here over New Year to get away from the Dutch fireworks frenzy, and it was peaceful. Very dog friendly, with lovely helpful reception staff and a great little bar selling traditional snacks. I’d definitely recommend it and come back.

A convenient new place I like, ideal if you need quick, affordable accommodation. Good for bike rides and walks in the forest, with things to do for kids and adults.
