The staff and owner were friendly and nice. As for the hotel itself, it’s worth staying at, though the rooms are really small and don’t look nice inside. The staircase up to the second floor was so narrow that getting our suitcases up was difficult. The rooms and the rest of the building really need renovation. Even so, at this price and with pets allowed, there aren’t many choices in Edam.

We didn’t stay overnight, but stopped for an excellent lunch. The hotel is quaint and sits in a lovely spot beside the canal. The English-speaking staff were very helpful.

We had four rooms for our family group for two nights in April 2025. The canals run alongside and behind the hotel, making its spot in the village of Edam really picturesque. Our rooms were spacious, with comfortable beds, a refrigerator, and a teapot. Breakfast came with the rooms, a very nice spread of cold foods. The people here made the stay stand out. Tygo was there when we arrived, helped us with our luggage, and got everyone settled in. We saw him on the other days too, and he was warm and friendly every time. All the staff were wonderful, and he especially stood out. We’d definitely stay again. The pictures show the area right around the hotel.

We had a delicious dinner and a very good breakfast, and every staff member was friendly and helpful. The place and its grounds are charming, without being fussy or ornate. It’s a beautiful, peaceful setting. I’d recommend it without hesitation, and it’s an easy starting point for Volendam, Marken, and nearby places.
