Hotel Prinsenhof

The ventilation problem affected our stay, especially during hot summer weather. Because of the building’s monumental status there’s no air conditioning, and a construction mistake on the day we arrived meant only one window could open. The large fans staff provided helped, but they were noisy. We really hope the ventilation can be fixed soon. Even with that frustration, the staff and managers were outstanding, kind, respectful, and helpful around the clock. They were understanding and considerate throughout our difficulties, and I’d give them seven stars out of five. The park around this beautiful spot by Martini tower makes the center feel calm, and it’s an ideal base for discovering Groningen.

A sudden downpour caught me during a short visit, but one of the hotel staff helped by showing me into the garden. What a lovely memory of Groningen. I promised myself I’ll have lunch or dinner there next time.

A beautiful historic hotel right in central Groningen, with everything close by. I slept wonderfully on a soft, lovely bed. Definitely worth staying here.

The restaurant was a real highlight, and the hotel itself made the whole stay feel special. It has an elegant look, but it’s comfortable too, with care put into the details. Tom, Melanie, Earde and Tyjo were especially warm and professional. They seemed to know what we needed before we asked, and made us feel looked after. A memorable place to stay, and easy to recommend.
