Pied à Terre Oostersingel UMCG

The private terrace is spacious and has a spectacular view of the Martini tower. The apartment is between the university hospital and the historic centre, and it’s extremely comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen, a very comfortable bed, and a smart TV with Netflix. I’d definitely stay here again.

We had a very bad experience with the host. A friend was supposed to stay in the apartment, but my colleague and I were going in his place. He had given us the keys and told her in advance, and she had agreed. When we arrived, she acted as if she knew nothing about it and yelled at us rudely. Our friend called her right away to clear up the situation, but she claimed he hadn’t told her, which was obviously a lie. There was a small misunderstanding, and she made no effort to resolve it. Instead, she kicked us out in a very rude way. We’d never experienced anything like this and don’t recommend booking the apartment.

Our main issue was the unpleasant exchange with the owner when we left. We had reserved on-site parking, but the terms were unclear, so after reaching the city we chose a different parking option and cancelled the B&B parking at the last minute. That clearly wasn’t appreciated, or perhaps we were expected to do something we hadn’t understood. The room itself was nice and had everything we needed, though it was inside an existing house and wasn’t luxurious.

The location is a real plus, only a few minutes on foot from the heart of the city, and it was good value for money. We had the whole top floor of a pretty, typical Dutch house for one night at Pied à Terre Oostersingel. It was comfortable and well equipped, and breakfast was good. Parking in a private lot right beside the accommodation costs 14 euros a day. The owners also let us leave the car there for several hours after checkout, which helped us a lot. We recommend it.
