Van der Valk Hotel Haarlem

I stayed here on a business trip. The restaurant food was excellent, and there was a parking lot. It's outside the center, but easy to reach from the airport by bus or Uber/Taxi. Public transport was easy to access, the WiFi was excellent, and the conference and meeting rooms worked well for corporate use.

The service and ck defence team are great, but on my second stay the hotel couldn't provide a double bed and I ended up sleeping on the floor. The twin room doesn't work for me either, since the beds move apart at night and I fell into the gap 🤣. I wouldn't recommend it…

We spent three nights here, and for such a famous hotel chain, it was disappointing. The service was very rude, and the room cleaning was only half done. They didn't even take the trash out, despite my being an exclusive member of the chain. The location is nice, though, with good public transport links.

The breakfast was a highlight: lots of tasty food and drinks, and the restaurant was clean and well organized. We stayed three nights and really enjoyed the visit. Staff were friendly and courteous throughout. Our triple room had three separate beds, a comfortable layout, excellent cleanliness, and a larger bathtub that made for a relaxing soak. The hotel is spacious, with tasteful interiors, and guests can use a cozy shared lounge between two buildings on the 3rd floor. There was plenty of seating, plus free coffee and fruit. Since the hotel is outside the main tourist areas, it was peaceful and convenient, especially for driving, with ample free parking. One suggestion: a kettle in the room would save guests a trip to the 3rd floor whenever they need hot water. This well-regarded hotel brand left a very positive impression, and I'd choose it again for future trips to the Netherlands.
