"DE BANK" - Hotel Apartments

We spent a week here. I'd give it more than five stars if that were possible. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Such an amazing place.

The beds were really comfortable, and the location is excellent. Our rooms were modern with well-equipped kitchens, although they were very cold when we arrived. We switched on the air conditioning and went to a bar, and by evening the rooms had warmed up. We didn't need much service, so there's little to comment on there. One thing that felt intrusive was having lots of cleaning staff waiting around 10 minutes before the 10:00 AM checkout time for us to leave.

The noise kept going through the night, so even with a comfortable bed we slept badly. It sounded like washing machines, though it turned out to be the heating pipes. The Rand apartment at De Bank was also freezing cold for two days, and the air conditioning, which we eventually got working in heating mode by following the online manual, couldn't warm the living room properly. We stayed for one night in December 2019 and found the whole experience hugely disappointing, especially for what we expected to be a relatively expensive, comfortable stay. On arrival we waited outside in the cold for 45 minutes because we didn't have the access code. The service was poor as well: there was no hand soap in the bathroom, and at checkout they asked us to pay even though we'd already paid. I wouldn't recommend renting this apartment, especially in winter.
