Auberge de Hilver

The restaurant food was good and the staff were nice. My room was large, though from a first-floor room I could smell people smoking outside on the ground floor, so opening the windows wasn't really an option. The smell outdoors was even worse, especially around the parking area. I think it was cow manure, and it was too strong to spend time outside.

We were only here for one night. The room was spacious, the bed was great, and we had a lovely view. Having two showers was a real bonus. Breakfast was satisfying and very good too. I'd definitely recommend it. :)

I paid in advance for food to collect at 7 pm, but when I arrived at that time they hadn't started making it. At 7:20 I asked for an update and was told it still hadn't been started. Meanwhile, I watched the same dishes going out to people who'd arrived after me. Never again. Useless.

The restaurant was a highlight: the food was great, and when one of our roughly 15 orders was wrong, they fixed it within ten minutes. The staff were kind, and we'd go back. Our rooms had both a shower and a bath, plus things you don't always find in a hotel, including a small fridge. The beds were incredibly comfortable, according to the whole family, and easy to separate if needed.
